The city center, the pedestrian zone, can be reached in just 5 minutes on foot. Here you will find a large selection of different restaurants and pubs. In the evening (4 - 8 p.m.) we offer you a sun terrace with a regional selection of drinks and some snacks. The regional, organic and fair breakfast buffet awaits you between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. (on weekends from 7.30 a.m.).
Sonthofen is your ideal starting point to reach the many different ski areas in the Allgäu. You can reach all 10 major ski areas in the Allgäu within 20 minutes by car. The central location of Sonthofen also enables you to quickly get to the starting point of your hike in the Allgäu. You can start right outside our front door or drive a few kilometers to the starting point of your hiking tour.
From spring to automn Sonthofen is the hub in the Allgäu and an ideal starting point for your bike tour. Since the Illertal has hardly any incline, Sonthofen offers the right terrain for every taste - whether mountain bike, racing bike, touring bike or e-bike - whether sporty or comfortable.
